Good afternoon everyone hope all is well. I have a concern with my 2014 Grand Cherokee it has a lil over 167,700 and still goin strong however I've commonly noticed an issue with first and second gear but doesn't happen a lot while driving but when it comes to first gear it wants to raise rpm to a lil over over 3,000rpm before it want to switch to second gear and it does it in second gear but to 3,000rpm before it switches to third gear but third gear and up it shifts normally like it should where it reaches 2,000rpm before it switches gears. Should I be concerned about the two gears? I know there's a known flaw with that 8 speed tranny where when fully warmed up you put it in drive then go how in first gear it'll rough shift. It's been goin on ever since it reached 160K miles. It's been a great vehicle. Any additives that would help?
Will do, AAMCO has a deal where they'll take the transmission out and check everything out free of charge and when they see what's wrong they notify the owner what happened
STAY AWAY FROM AAMCO! They are one of the worst ripoff artists in an industry dominated by chain ripoff artists. Find a good local transmission shop.
Oh gawwd. Okay, I'll take it somewhere else for sure and I will say which I should've mentioned in the description but when I drive it normally in Sport Mode with paddle shifters the gears change smoothly
Since that transmission is computer-controlled you might want to see if there's a software update available. Other that that, diagnosis would require a fancy bidirectional scan tool. Any additive is at best a temporary bandaid that cannot actually fix anything.
Will do
Take it to a transmission shop, not the dealership for proper diagnosis. Probably malfunctioning due to lack of proper service.

DO NOT take it to Aamco. It's a scam. There is no "free" anything.
Oh really? Alright I'll see what other places around here are decent. I should've mentioned this in the post but I will say driving it normally in Sport Mode and using the paddle shifters the gears change smoothly
Has this transmission received a fluid and filter service regularly over the last 8 years? At what mileage intervals?
At 120K miles when my momma owned it was when it was changed but she claimed the transmission was slippin after it was and one of the mechanics at Jeep she has no idea what they did unless they put dirty fluid back in but it hadn't done it since then. If it's not too late to have it changed I'd stop by and have the fluid changed. As for the filter I'm not sure if it was changed.
