My 1979 MG Midget revving out of control with new Carb and new exhaust manifold. It is a Webber 34/36 Carb. 1500 engine size. Even without the gas pedal connected and a spring keeping the throttle closed my new carb causes my engine to rev to 5000rpm, out of control till I shut down the ignition. No vacuume leaks from manifold that I can find. Help? I can use my hands, I Have asked many people -- no one knows, no one has ever heard of this happening.

The fast idle cam adjustment is probably way out. There are three adjusting screws on the carb (it's a 32/36), idle mixture, idle speed and fast idle. Look at the Weber diagrams and back off the fast idle screw.
Will Do Thanks Doc.
