1985 Toyota 22R 4x4 , overheating and a little bit of oil in the radiator

Hello ,

My pickup has been over heating and a tiny bit oil is getting in to the radiator ,with a bit of sludge on the cap .the oil is fine nothing weird going on there , I mean it burns it up but I started adding the oil honey and that seems to help quite a bit . I don't see the white tailpipe smoke  of a blown head gasket , and I also can not figure out where the water ( I've been using water in the radiator for a few weeks because I know there's a leak somewhere and better it should be leaking water than coolant )  is going .doesn't seem to be on the ground ,so I'm flummoxed .

I'm not a mechanic ,but I try to figure out what's going on so I don't get taken advantage of . so watching You tube I found one that said for this it could be head gasket failure type  of a compression leak .but didn't offer up any fixes .

the water pump is less than a year old ,and I ran the truck with the cap off and I can see the water moving around ,so there's that acting normal .

I'm curios as to what to check next ? the radiator is the original .

HELP HELP HELP ?

thank you in advance for advice ,

oil in the coolant is a blown head gasket. Top end needs to be rebuilt.
