1992 Lincoln Town Car Air Spring Suspension

Greetings. I just picked up a 92 Lincoln Town Car in remarkably good shape for the year, though it does have some issues I wish to resolve on my own. It has roughly 140K miles on the clock (33K displayed and no longer working, 5 digit readout). I used to own an 89 Continental in high school and a 90 Mark VII in college, and both of these vehicles had their air ride suspension removed before I had purchased them. Everyone always told me they aren't worth the trouble because they are "thousands of dollars" to repair when something goes wrong. I've priced the air springs at $51 and change each on Rock Auto, and my new purchase does have at least one leaking bag. Should I purchase these two bags and replace them to correct the leak, or should I get a conversion kit instead and switch the car over to normal springs? Which is the smarter option for a guy who has limited mechanical knowledge but wants to learn and do all of his own maintenance himself if the plan is to hang onto this car for a long time as a pleasure cruiser? Thanks!
