1994 Ford Bronco doesn't shift gears

Hi Scotty, I am the original owner of this 1994 Eddie Bauer Bronco. It has a 5.8 with the automatic E4OD transmission and 180,000 miles. This is a speed density OBD1 all original truck. I never beat or taken it off road. My transmission is giving me problems intermittently by staying in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear way to long even with very light pedal pressure. It just does not want to shift gears. The Engine will go up to 3000 rpms before it shifts VERY HARD. No Ck engine light. No codes and the 351 runs perfect. Speedo works perfectly and needle does not bounce.  I changed the rear VSS sensor with oem part hoping it would help.  A couple years ago the trans would randomly jump into neutral and back into gear on the hwy which was caused by a bad MLPS switch no more issues with that now. The battery is strong and the cables are clean and tight. Whats weird is if I disconnect the battery and hook it back up the trans shifts perfectly again for days. I have had to do this 4 times already. I am suspecting the ecm. I tried a few salvage yards and nobody has one for my truck within a thousand miles. The ecm rebuild companies have very sketchy warranties for private consumers. The mechanics here in south Fl don't know what to do without a ck engine light on and they want me to basically give them a blank ck until they finish replacing everything. Maybe I will see you we are hoping to move up to the Tellico Lakes area in Tenn in a couple of years. Thats my happy place. I value your opinion and I would really appreciate your advice helping  me with this transmission !

Thanks Rick

well my advice would be check out hemmings Auto news online to see if you can get a computer and pray it's that because if it isn't you're going to probably need a transmission overhaul which would not surprise me on a 94 bronco
