Looking at a 95 F-350 4x4 with 97k miles from someone on craigslist. Auto transmission. It looks a little rough but if the miles are relatively low could this be good to drive around on a regular basis? Needs some front end steering work parts are included. It is a 5.8 engine with 4x4. I know you typically say toyotas are good and occasionally you speak highly of the f series trucks, but you tend to speak in general terms lumping them together. Are there problem areas with this generation that you can think of besides say the 4x4 going bad? Transmission life? Any other odd things that pop up? Emissions systems? Oil leaks? Thanks in advance
Look this thing is old enough to vote and is definitely not something you want as a daily driver. <100kmiles mean that truck has been sitting around not driving for YEARS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Check Autotempest.com for something better! 95 is WAY too old!
Is it an 8 foot bed? 4x4, plus an F350. You can't go out and get a Tundra of that size. nor can you get anything new like that for any less than what, $75k? Don't worry about the miles. The higher the better because it'll be cheaper. It's like mold in a basement. A great way to ask a seller for a discount!
I drive a sedan most of the time, but I have a 21 foot long work truck with 8 ft bed. Not pretty but does the job. Cost me $800. No complaints at that price. So, if I saw what you've found, I'd definitely be interested. For $2500. But that size truck usually commands a premium. Around here you'd be looking at $7000. No thanks.
That's pretty low mileage for that old of a truck. Make sure to 100% verify that because they can easily roll back the odometer on those. They're strong trucks but do keep in mind that's gonna be an OBD 1 truck so if something does go out, there's only so much information you're going to get out of the ECM. Regardless of the mileage, things like rubber hoses are bound to be rotting out by now, so take a look at those. Fords tend to have a lot of vacuum lines during the 90s.
If it runs good and shifts good still, it could be a decent truck but I wouldn't pay much even with less than 100k miles.
