Hey Scotty on my brother 95 gmc truck with 254,000 miles. When in reverse it barley moves but in drive it goes forward. Could this be the transmission itself and what could be alternatives. I was thinking of trying Lucas automatic transmission to see if would help.

It's the transmission. The Lucas might work a little for a little while, but don't expect miracles. It's time for a new vehicle my friend. She did well.
