My daughter barely made it home with a car she bought. Milky oil so I had the head recalibrated, a new Head Gasket, new manifold gaskets, still milky oil. Changed oil cooler gasket which stopped oil and coolant mixing. Still crank no start. Towed to Pepboy's, said junk it. Had a mechanic come to the house got it running but, then cut the positive cable inside the distributor to the coil and the car is back to no start, claimed it needed a lot more work, (Code for $$$). Fired him. Bought new distributor w/coil, new ignition, (Igniter) modular, Engine control modular, all new sensors, even new PVC Valve, new vacuum hoses, new fuel injectors, plugs, cables, retimed and still no start just crank? I have been working on this car for a year now, only because I feel bad for my daughter. Can you offer any suggestions as I am at a loss and questing continued investing in this vehicle for her! I am only asking because of you my 1979 Datsun still runs great!
Hired another mechanic who decided that the two coolant hoses going from engine to throttle and throttle to the engine was causing the problem so he disconnected one hose and threw it on the ground and rerouted the coolant hose from the engine looped back into the engine, eliminating the throttle completely except for the vacuum hose, which he just plugged. Still crank no start. FIRED another so-called mechanic!
