I just bought a 1995 toyota Rav4 (Sxa11) with a 3S-FE engine with about 125,000 kms (about 77,600 miles) and I have enormous fuel consumption. I have already performed a basic maintenance, filters, fluids, spark plugs, intake manifold cleaning ... and it is going very well. but inside the cabin I hear a hiss, and I suspect that it comes from the brake vacuum booster ... is it possible that there is a loss of vacuum and this generates high consumption? thank you very much for your attention. why the down-vote, Mr. Adam?
He probably doesn’t like cigars..
Sorry!!! i’m new at this...i didn’t mean to!
Thank you for your help!
that's ok 🙂 I hope you fix your problem.
The hiss sound is for vacuum leak which also affects your fuel consumption.
Check the vacuum hose from the intake manifold to the brake booster. If that's not it, it's the diaphram inside the booster.
