The car is a 1996 Camaro 3.8L V6 with about 170,000 miles.  We bought it as a project car to become my daily driver and we ended up putting in a new egr valve, maf sensor and oxygen sensor.  For some reason the oxygen sensor is still running a code and when the engine heats up it hesitates when flooring the gas pedal or trying to get a speed above 45 mph.  However, when the engine is cool it can do highway speeds.  What do you think might be the problem?  As I said the only current code is a oxygen sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2(post cat, drivers side).

Have you tried to run the car with the o2 disconnected to see if it runs better?

No, but would that make a difference as the code states "no activity"?

What is the code? If the car reads no activity then you have a communications issue between the computer and o2 sensor if the sensor itself is new. Do you have wiring diagrams that you can potentially trace? Or even simpler to use a volt meter to trace it:

It sounds like the 02 sensor pre heat coil is not working.  Could be a wiring problem, or most likely, the sensor itself is not functioning properly.  Is it OEM or after market?
