I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. I bought it used about 6 months ago and it has been running great since, but recently it has started cutting off while driving when I come to a stop. It has been sitting for about a week now because the cutting out started getting worse and now when I try to start it, there is just a clicking noise. I have ruled out problems with the battery and the alternator by using a tester. What else could be causing this?

So you mean it cranks but won’t start? Or just clicking when you turn the key?
