Scotty,
Thinking about purchasing a Lexus ES. Would you recommend the ES or the ES Hybrid? How much does a hybrid last on average and how much do the cost to replacement.

If an ES would last 300k miles the hybrid would get mechanically totaled at 180k miles all else being same. Toyota makes great hybrids but it has a battery and generator and CVT and all that stuff that tends to be expensive to repair after 150 200k miles. I would go regular ES by far the Lexus products already are somewhat expensive to maintain as they age a hybrid system would be a bad idea in my opinion unless you are keeping the car for only 2 or 3 years, which is the best way to use a hybrid car.
If you want to buy a brand new car and do not plan to keep the car as long as possible, go for the hybrid, otherwise, get a gasoline one.
