Looking at a 2016 RAV4 Hybrid

Would you buy an older hybrid? I'm concerned about the battery. From my understanding these batteries last anywhere from 10-15 years and 100 to 150k miles. The car has 81k miles and is decently priced. Carfax looks great, oil changes every 6 months or 5000 miles.

No. (Scotty has stated quite a few times in his videos and responses to that kind of question that old hybrids are prone not only to battery problems but the possibility of expensive generator and electronics repairs.)

You can't trust Carfax since not everything is reported to them. The vehicle could have been wrecked or flooded and pieced back together in someone's back yard and no one would be the wiser.

Is it priced decently enough to take into account the possibility of battery replacement and other potentially expensive repairs as it continues to age?

You need a good mechanic, preferably a hybrid expert, to give that thing a thorough examination before purchase to ascertain its true condition.
