  • Hey Scotty,
I have a diesel Corolla Altis 2009 model, my car has stalled a couple of times since the purchase, it happened a couple of times since purchase, on driving in crawling traffic the engine suddenly died. Uponntaking the car to an authorised Toyota service they said that the scanner point a code to replace the injector. My car is just driven 18k in the past 10 years. What is your recommendation I should do.

Is that 18,000 miles or 18,000 kms in 12 yrs?!

Either way, next time buy a petrol vehicle if your usage is so low.

Coming to your problem, if the dealer has scanned the car & already given you the code (do you mind sharing the code?) & diagnosis, what are you waiting for?

If you don’t trust the dealer, have you considered having the car diagnosed by a reputed independent mechanic?

Toyota D-4D engines are extremely reliable so either your gas station is selling you bad fuel or you may need to improve your maintenance habits.

And remember, Diesel engines were made for high running. If you’re basically using it as a lawn ornament, you’re better off with a petrol car in future. They are much more tolerant to sparse running.
