I have a 1997 3.2L V6 4x4 Isuzu Trooper that I just changed the water pump on. After installation the vehicle wont start. Im not a mechanic and dont have access to special tools. The engine turns over and sounds like it wants to start but doesnt. Fuel pump is fine, and it was running and cranking fine before. The + Battery Terminal gets extra hot from trying to start. Im guessing its a bad ground but cant find one.
Since the problem began after changing the water pump chances are you disturbed something. Double-check the area you worked in.
Also, see the troubleshooting section of the FAQ.
@chucktobias Im about to go over all the grounds now. Thats the only thing I can think of is somehow a ground wire got crimped or pulled loose.
@chucktobias Just ran new ground wires and its still not firing.
Go through the no-start troubleshooting in our FAQ and see if that helps. In particular you want to see if the problem is due to lack of spark or lack of fuel.
I've seen at times where the solenoid was bad. I'm not for sure, though definitely check your solenoid.
