1997 Toyota Avalon P0301 code

I've got a 1997 Toyota Avalon V6, automatic transmission, with 150,000 miles. I'm getting a P0301 cyl 1 misfire code. She runs great at any speed, but has a slightly rough idle at around 700 rpm. Gas mileage has improved from 20 mpg city to 22 mpg, with long term fuel trims reading 14.8 on bank 1, and 10.2 on bank 2.

I've put in new plugs and wires, a new air filter while I was at it, and swapped the 1-4 and 2-5 coils to no effect. Compression is 165 on all but cyl 4 which is 105 (miss is on cyl 1).

The bank 1 fuel injectors seem pretty difficult to get at. Anything else you'd check before digging into the injectors? I plan to just swap them all out if I'm going there.

Thanks!

Well that number 4 cylinder has really low pressure. And due to the firing order of the car it might get confused and trip a misfire on the other cylinder. If I were you, I'd pretty much drive it that way. Because 105 is so low, the engine has a serious internal problem. I would double check to make sure that's a real reading though and I would also do wet and dry compression testing

Video answer. Scotty says it shows p301 due old software which uses cylinder n.1 as a reference
