Hey Scotty, I wanted to start out by saying I love your videos and they're a HUGE help.
My friends and I decided to take on a project car to try and get some mechanical experience and have some fun tinkering with engine modification etc. We found a 1997 Toyota Celica GT Automatic with 130,000 miles for sale and bought it. On the drive home we noticed that it started sputtering and the check engine light came on.
We got it home and started diagnosing. We used our reader and got a P0302, Misfire on Cylinder 2. The car misfires under load but seems to run OK after up to speed. We swapped the spark plugs around to make sure it wasn't them. We noticed oil on one of the spark plugs and leaking from the valve cover so we changed both the tube seals and the valve seal. Still misfiring.
Where should we go from now?
Thank you!
Most likely a bad spark plug wire, but first ,
Inspect the distributor cap for cracks, carbon tracking, moisture.
Run a compression test, both static and running.
Check for a vacuum leak, intake gasket, hose etc.
Swap fuel injectors like you did with the spark plugs.
