1998 Buick Century limited, noise heard when in drive

Almost everything on my car is new or ok. I have a ticking noise that sounds like it’s coming from my transmission or transaxle area just below my air intake but it’s not a transmission or transaxle problem. I can’t figure out what it is and there’s nothing else there that it could be except AC which was turned off.

If the ticking noise happens while at idle you can use a mechanic's stethoscope to try finding it. Otherwise you can try a noise-finding device like the ones Scotty has demonstrated.
