Hello Scotty and community,
My 1998 Honda Accord LX with 188,808 miles , I noticed that I'm not getting any heat when I turn the temperature control dial to the hot position. I'm not sure why this is happening. Usually when I turn the temperature control dial I hear little noises coming from the car that adjusts the temperature as I turn the dial, like little whining noises like normal. But I don't hear those noises and I'm not getting any heat. The Air conditioner still works and blows cold when I press the AC button, however I get no heat. What could it be Scotty, a bad HVAC switch, bad heater module, bad heater cable, bad heater core? What do you all think?
I took my car to my mechanic yesterday and he suggest I go to junkyard and find another temperature control switch or something. I hope this is a not a major problem that can be fixed easily.
Thanks!
it's a stuck temperature blend door. But it could be the door, the actuator, or the switch. It's up to you to find out which. Get out your screwdriver.
ok thanks.
First, check to see that the cable is still connected to the control valve. The check into a new control valve - AutoZone #74649 - $36.99. Do what MMJoe said first to see if the blend door is truck, then the above.
ok thanks for the suggestion
