My 1998 Lincoln Town Car has an intermittent air suspension light. It seems to come on around twenty miles after start up or if I sit for a couple minutes running. Is it time for new bags? I have a receipt from the previous owner showing they were replaced about 4 years ago. If they do need replaced should I replace the bags or convert to traditional springs?

I imagine that either option could add up to quite a few $. How long are you going to keep the car? How much longer will you be able to get the airbag parts? Replacing air-bags with springs seems to be the choice for most restorer/rebuilders.

Ok. Thanks. I’m hoping to keep it on the road a while as it only has 91k miles and nearly no rust despite being in PA since new. I’ve heard the conversions don’t ride particularly well but I hadn’t considered future part scarcity for the bags. Thanks again.
