1998 ranger no start with fuel and spark

Hello Scotty, I have a 98 Ford ranger with the 3.0 v6 with the 5 speed manual and it has 170,000 miles. I use the truck as a beater on the property and don’t even drive it on the road, but recently it was idling and died on me. It cranks but doesn’t start, it has spark and fuel all the way up to the Schrader valve on the fuel rail. And starts with starting fluid. The fuel pump is working and I suspect that there is no power going to the injectors. I replaced the crank position sensor with no difference. And I don’t have a test light to check wiring. What do you suggest. I also have the exhaust cut off because it was rust welded together and I had to get the tranny out to replace the slave cylinder for the clutch so it’s missing a few Oxygen sensors. And the OBD2 port doesn’t work with my BlueDriver, it lights up and then turns off and won’t connect. Thanks

Assuming you tested the pressure at the fuel rail with a pressure gauge (you have to have adequate pressure), you have spark because the truck starts when you squirt the intake with starter fluid, you pretty much narrowed it down.

It's time to "bite the bullet" and buy an LED test light to see if you have power and a ground signal to your injectors.

It wont take 10 minutes test.

Harbor Freight sells them for $10.

Your local auto parts store will probably have them starting at just under $20.

Use it and put it in your tool box. You have a 23 year old truck. You'll be needing it again sooner or later.

What do my video I'll fix your car that cranks it doesn't start up and if you have no pulse to the injectors either the crank sensor is bad or the wiring or the main computer
