Hey there scotty, what are your thoughts on a 1998 Toyota Camry XLE 3.0L V6 paired with a 4 speed automatic transmission with 153,478 original miles on it for a daily commuter for my father when he’s not using his pickup truck for jobs and potentially (in a year) my first car? It’s listed for $1500. Any known problems with these years of Toyota Camry’s I should look out for?

Not only is that an old car, that engine in many Toyota and Lexus models had oil sludge issues. If you really want it to last, you better maintain it well and change the oil at the proper mileage. Otherwise, I’d probably get the 4 cylinder.
