Over the weekend I came across a 99 Lexus GS400 for sale. This specific one is advertised as having 110k miles with an automatic transmission. Exterior has a few scratches but nothing looks serious. The buyer is asking for $7500 but when i called he says that he set it a little high to negotiate to a price closer to what he really wants. Good tactic lol. owner claims that the timing chain, water pump, tires and front end parts are new. I realize this is one of toyotas glamorized v8 engines for good reason, and i was thinking if this would be a good find? Will probably be used as a daily if bought. What are y’all’s thoughts on this, and what should i know before going to test drive it?

I would not use this for daily driving.
and what should i know before going to test drive it?
Make sure that everything works- transmission shifts good, suspension doesn't replacement, make sure that there is no rust (you didn't say where it's from).
In general a 24-year-old luxury car is going to be a poor choice as a daily driver. Even though those were well-built, reliable vehicles, age inevitably takes its toll.
Ask the seller to see all the receipts for the work he said he had done.
