Hello,
I just recently bought a 1999 Toyota Celica GT with 133k miles. I just scanned it because it has a check engine light and idles a bit rough.
The scan returned the P0441 and P0446 codes which pertain to the EVAP system. P0441 says that the fix is replacing a bad vapor canister purge solenoid while the P0446 says the fix is replacing a bad canister vent solenoid. I was looking around the air filter but couldn't find the individual purge solenoid which leaves me to think it is built into the vapor canister as a whole.
Is the purge solenoid separate from the vapor canister or am I going to need to replace the whole vapor canister? Thank you!
It's built into the canister
Thanks so much scotty! I could not for the life of me find that answer anywhere on the internet. Bought a Haynes repair manual but it doesn't arrive till Monday. God bless you
