- I was reading about the 2.7 port and direct fuel injection Ford motor. They say the block is made from the same stuff as the power strokes. Compacted graphite iron. I have watched your videos about how direct fuel injection and turbos are not reliable long term. I would like to see your opinions about this motor. Should I choose it over say a 3.6 ecoboost or a 5.0? Thanks!

There wasn’t as much R&D on the 2.7 than the 3.5. If you really are diggin the Ecoboost line would buy the 3.5 100% over the 2.7.
@jpalago I would avoid any 2018+ 5.0 as Ford made A LOT of changes to it and now it’s absolutely ruined. If you want a 5.0 2013-17 is the yrs you want. Those 5.0s are overbuilt and rock solid.
