2000 Ford Ranger 4.0l
This truck has 159,000 miles with codes p1071 and p1074 an issue I have is when its cold the truck will run for a bit and idles roughly after and shuts off, also my a/c only blows on defrost no matter the selection any ideas at what to look for?
For the starting issue, I would check your spark plugs and fuel filter first. Sounds like it isn't getting enough fuel. If there's no issue found, it could be time to check the fuel pump itself.
As for the defrost sticking, it sounds like your blend door actuators may be broken which is pretty common. You can google how to fix those on your truck as the info is definitely out there. The hardest part is usually getting your hands in the tight spots necessary for repairs.
