Scotty, I use my camper van at RV campgrounds often but I would like to use the hvac system fan motor to ventilate as I sleep in it. When camping I attach a 15amp automatic battery charger to the battery so I can use the 12v outlets in the cabin. Will I damage the electrical system if I leave the key in the ON position but not running overnight so I can use the hvac fan for ventilation? The fan will only run if it’s in the ON position or actually engine running. I don’t want to run the engine just the fan for ventilation in the fresh air mode. no, I don't think it will harm your car. It'll probably wear out the charger though. Why not just skip the charger, and plug in a small 120V oscillating fan and position it wherever you like?
