Scotty,
I have a 2000 Toyota 4Runner V6 4WD Automatic with 220,000. It started losing power, the dash lights got dim and wouldn't pull itself. When I tried to start it again it wouldn't turn over but later when i tried again it did. It started to run fine but then started the same thing. I tested the alternator, it was bad, and replaced it. Now it's still doing the same thing. I've had it about 1 1/2 years and have maintained it regularly and no off road abuse. What could it be?
Darrell
PS. Love your channel and have been subscribed for about a year. Wish you were closer to me.
Weak alternator. I had a Chevy that would die when I drove at night. Alternator was strong enough to run car but not the lights. Just a thought. Good luck

Thanks for the responses. Some things to check out.
when an engine runs poorly, check the basics. Spark plugs, air filter, MAF sensor, fuel pressure, cylinder compression, and it can't hurt to run diagnostics on it.
Possible weak fuel pump......check fuel, pressure if able.
Thanks to all for responses. Trying to find the special adapter to check the fuel pump. Plugs and wires are only a year old but will check them out. And the MAF sensor.
