We have a 2000 Toyota 4Runner Limited 3.4l V6 with 286k miles. The past year or 2 it struggles to go past around 50mph and occasionally (every few months) it will kind of sputter when you are accelerating. It sounds like it is cutting out but the engine isn’t turning off or anything. Please let me know what it could be. It does leak oil but not a ton. Thanks.

Have it scanned and post any codes as proper diagnosis shouldn't begin with guesswork. Oreillys, Autozone & similar stores will scan your 4Runner for free.
hey, the oil leak could be coming from your seals/bearing around your engine blocks. it also is worth checking around the manifolds and oil filter gasketing as well.
as for the 50 mph thing, it can be many things that caused it to go into limp mode. catalytic converters, cam/crank sensors, fuel system, bad tune up, air intake system, engine air filter, flooded engines. many things so take it to a reputable mechanic in your area.
