hello,
Have a 2005 Toyota Corolla LE with a 1.8 DOHC R type engine. Everytime I let the car heat up to operating temperatures, I try to turn on the heat and Air conditioner. its starts to idle rough, particularly when I use the windshield option on my dash. I wonder, is this an easy fix (evap purge valve, air flow sensor, dirty butterfly valve)? what could be causing this. this doesnt affect the performance of the vehicle mechanically at all btw

Your AC compressor may be wearing out and putting a heavier load than normal on the engine. Another possibility is the additional electrical load of the HVAC is reducing system voltage due to a weak battery, alternator, or both.
