Hi Scotty:
I have a regular cab 2.7L 2000 Tacoma with 231,780 miles and the check-engine light lit. The Toyota tech said there is no pressure in cylinder-4, it often becomes a three-cylinder. What do I do? Thank you.

Why is there no compression?
A real tech is supposed to know what to do. Didn't he offer any explanation or solution? Did he stick a camera in there?
The technician who scanned the vehicle was born in the same year as my Tacoma was produced. The service advisor said, "Erm, 'cuz it has 231,000 miles on it. You need to rebuild the engine." I believe neither in their competence nor in their inclination to be honest.
golly... aren't they helpful.
I recommend you find a real mechanic.
