2001 Gmc Sierra 2500HD auto 395,000 miles leaking oil between motor and transmission

2001 Gmc Sierra 2500HD 4wd, automatic transmission with 395,000 miles leaking oil between motor and transmission..input shaft seal perhaps?

well if it's motor oil, then it'll be the rear main seal.


If it's ATF, then it'll be either the turbine shaft seals, or the pump mounting bolts, both of which require removing the tranny from the vehicle.

If the shaft seals are failing, the rest of the tranny won't be far behind, especially with 400k miles. And since the tranny is out you might as well overhaul/replace the tranny at that point


or you could just live with the leak
