I have been trying to fix P0171 on my 01 Honda civic D17A1 motor for a while now. I have replaced so far all the vacuum hoses, throttle body gasket replaced, cleaned IACV, replaced Intake manifold gasket, installed new PCV valve, replaced fuel injectors and I am still running lean with my Short term fuel term ranging between +17% - 35%. I just happened to check my fuel pressure, and I am constantly at 30 psi with the car running but if I only turn the key to switch on position it is around 20 psi and after I take the key out the pressure drops to `5 psi like a rock. I am leaning towards changing fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump. Now both are very expensive and I would like to narrow my options as to what to be replaced.
re the FPR just remove the line and wait for 5 minutes, don’t just do t change it.
if you smell gas or it comes out the you’ll know it’s bad.
