- Hi Scotty I have a 2001 Isuzu Trooper with 190,000 miles. I know the 4l30e tranny can be problematic but what about the engine? Is it GM made like the tranny? Will it last me 100,000 more miles with proper scheduled maintenance?

Which engine you got there ?
I know the 6VD1 engine is Isuzu made.

I know it’s a 3.5 liter v6 so far it’s been pretty reliable but with this many mileage I don’t know how much longer it’ll last

Those older Isuzu V6 engines had sludging problems. If the oil was well maintained/changed it will have some life to go.

This is a late response. I’ve had a ‘90 GM V6 for 11 years. Bought it at 195K miles. It’s made a great off road platform. But has needed lots of maintenance and repair. Average cost per year has been $2K. That includes everything except gas and tires. Made sure to have it checked by a mechanic you trust. Good luck.
