Scotty, love your videos! very helpful. Question: I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma 2WD 4cyl w/ 175,000 mi. and it's a daily driver and runs like a top but the winter this year ate my battery. After battery replacement I notice that the idle seems slower and once warm especially when stopped in gear it will nearly die (but hasn't yet). I was thinking possibly plugs and wires???? any suggestions?
No this doesn't sound like an ignition issue.
I would look into the
- fuel pump pressure.
- air filter
- throttle body/MAF/IAC
- fuel injectors
thank you for the response. Would that explain everything being fine until after new battery replacement though?
When you replaced the battery, it reset the computer, so it just made the issue worse. It may improve with time, but I don't think it's normal for it to almost stall.
I see where you are coming from, thank you
