I'm looking at this 2002 Chevy Blazer 4x4 4 door 6 cyl. One owner with 50,000 original miles in Florida entire life. Any issues I should br aware of? Thanks
Now personally before you read this, I’m not a big fan of GM products because of their rough history. Though I can tell you a few problems to look for if you do purchase this vehicle. The main concern I see is the transmission issues if not well taken care of (make sure you change the transmission fluid every 30K miles). The differentials eventually may start making a noise due to worn bearings (so change differential/transfer case fluid every 30K miles to slow down this problem due to bad design). Fuel pump failure is very common in this particular GM truck (replace it every 30K miles as well). Some people have reported internal faults in distributor that may cause engine problems. Some electrical issues are present with the instrument panel, that may cause flickering. Though mainly the only thing that’s completely seriously catastrophic to this particular vehicle is it’s transmission. If I were you, I’d service this transmission and have it checked by a professional mechanic every 30K miles. Also the differential and transfer case issues due to worn bearings, that can also be bad as well since you’re purchasing the 4x4 drivetrain. If I were you, If you “like” Chevy trucks, I’d personally try to go for a Chevy Silverado 2500HD or 3500. They have been known for far better reliability, and If you need it for hauling, it has the power to last too. Though I’m just trying to give you friendly advice! You may choose whatever path you like. Though just be aware of these issues on that truck. I wish you great luck, and pray that everything goes well!
