I am considering buying this van. It runs good and only has 53k miles. Anyone have experience with this vehicle and if you think it’s a good buy for $2800? Known problems? It has had 1 owner with very good car fax info.
Drove the exact year Windstar at work for years.
1. The engine ran forever. One had over 300K on the original engine.
2. The Transmission can easily go 150k.
The worst: RUST! They had to replace the front engine cradle and several frame parts in the rear. Big defects.
So, have some mechanic put it on a lift and check the underneath for rust. There are recalls too. Ford will fix 'some' parts.
If the recalls were done, and the mechanic says it has no other issues .... I would consider it. Maybe offer less money.
