2002 Honda CRV Crankshaft Seal Replacement

Topic starter

My husband has worked on cars as a hobby for almost 30 years. However, he doesn't have much experience with Hondas.

He is currently replacing my crankshaft seal for my 2002 Honda CRV. We have removed the bolt, belt, and seal. We are currently trying to put the new seal on, and he does not know if the seal is suppose to lay flush or pushed in deeper. Does anyone know how it is suppose to lay?

I think the next step is putting the belt on. If you have tips for putting the belt on, or anything else we are suppose to do next - YOUR ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

He keeps getting stumped on this repair, then he watches more YouTube videos and buys more tools. Any good YouTube videos are also appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Melody

Thanks for that video! Tt helped us put on the seal. We also put on the harmonic balancer. Tomorrow, we are putting on the belt. Any more advice/ tips/tricks are welcomed.

Just take your time and make sure the new belt is correctly routed and seated.  Good luck!
