Greetings all, im buying a used 2002 suzuki aerio 2liter 4 cyl eng. with 60,800 miles on it. What are the opinions of the engine and was wanting a little simple insight on the car's sequential fuel injection system. this is the first foreign car ive ever owned (im usually a gm corperation car owner). So if anyone has any insight on this car id appreciate any info Thanks
I own a 2003 Chevy Tracker (Suzuki) 2.0L made in Canada. Only things I had to take care of at about 120,000 miles was a timing chain set (which was to be expected) and the 02 sensor on the exhaust manifold. Of course, I'm like a racoon with OCD when it comes to maintenance. I bought it new with a manual 5 speed trans and 4 wheel drive.
Yep those are basically Suzuki Vitara derived. Suzuki makes great vehicles, even nowadays, while the industry is shifting towards making more and more complex vehicles - Suzuki is still making them as practical and as simple as possible.
The older 2.0L is quite good but also is quite high maintenance, (at least on euro models) valve adjustment should be checked every 20k miles, they’re quite prone to leaking oil, and stretching chains but if you take care of it it can just last for a very long time…
Mine has never leaked one drop of anything.
Is this a u.s vehicle? If so I’d advise against it
according to the vin it was made in asia. japan im assuming. 1st digit in vin is J
If it was produced for the us I mean. I would strongly advise against it. They aren’t terrible for a cheap vehicle. For the brand without a ton of mechanical problems look for an awd sx4 they’re not the nicest but powertrain wise they run and drive just fine as long as they’re maintained
They can be ok cars, but do not overpay since they are not sold in Canada or the US anymore. Make sure to have it thoroughly inspected by a professional mechanic before buying it.
