My car is forcing power steering fluid out of the cap on the pump. Just replaced both the pump and the lines. Not sure what is causing this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You have to bleed the air out of the system.  Jack up the front of the car.  Start the engine and let it idle.  Turn the steering wheel back and forth lock to lock 6 or 7 times.  Put it back on the ground and check the fluid level.  Fill it to the full (hot) mark.

Did you bleed the system as you added the fluid by turning lock to lock? Generally this means there's an air blockage, or some other issue building is up too much pressure. There's a tiny hole in the cap to vent excess pressure so you don't blow up your pump or rack. If you overfilled the system, it'll start coming out after it gets hot and expands.

I honestly don't know. I hired it out to a man down the road from me. I hate working on FWD vehicles. I'll try bleeding it.
