Would you recommend buying the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross? If so, would you recommend the all wheel drive or front wheel drive? I live in Oregon and do a lot of traveling in the hills and mountains.

No.  Let somebody else take the depreciation hit.

I would not touch the new Toyota Corolla Cross. It's a new design and we don't know the long-term effects after buying one.

As far as quality even though it's a new vehicle but it's built on the corolla platform and the corolla has been a very good car, so in this sense I wouldn't be too worried about purchasing it.

Toyota usually makes good products, but it is never a good idea to buy a new model, even one from Toyota. You should be fine with front wheel drive.

I wouldn't recommend the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross yet because most vehicles tend to have problems during the first year of the generation. This may not relate to Toyota Corolla Cross, but the newer Toyota Tundras already have problems with the turbo waste gates. So, this is one of the examples why they really shouldn't buy the first year of the new generation vehicles even Toyota.
