Timing chain

I have a 2006 Mercedes Benz c230 with 121437 miles and can be either a manual or automatic. No codes! I was told it was the timing chain because the cam pressure is not rising when it's being turned over. When the car quit on me it was like it just powered down and then shut off. It would turn over normally but not start. Had the crankshaft position sensor changed still same results. So was told it had to the timing chain. Should I spend the money to have it fixed or sell the car?

FYI.. I love this car!!

Did they scan it for codes? There are many things that can cause a no-start condition. Timing chains usually start making noise when they start to wear out, did you hear anything? You should get a second opinion. A 16-year-old Mercedes Benz is very likely going to start needing very expensive repairs in the near future. I would agree with the advice of selling it off unless you have deep pockets for upcoming repair work. Of course you'd get more for it if it's running.

Sell it now before it's too late.
