2003 350Z 240,000 miles fix it for $1900 or junk it?

My mechanic gave me an estimate of about $1,900. He says it needs 6 spark plugs, ignition coil, valve cover right and left side , and valve cover gasket right and left. Should I junk my Z car, or since I like it, try to fix it one more time?

Thanks-

It has an automatic transmission.

I'd find another quote.  Sometimes a money pit is just that.  A money pit.

Do you feel comfortable doing the repairs yourself? You could save a ton of money doing so. Spark plugs are dirt cheap, i found ignition coils and valve covers with gaskets for $250 here: https://www.1aauto.com/nissan-350z-infiniti-fx35-g35-m35-valve-cover-kit-trq-vca93553/i/1aeek00827/1168309/2003

Total that's less than $300 in parts. Idk if you're mechanic only will use oem parts or how much he charges for labor. I would consider fixing it yourself. The car is definitely getting old but $300 to keep it running doesn't seem that bad.

Just my 2 cents. I have an 03 G35 with 158k I plan to keep running as long as I can.

I’d make it a project car. I’d try to fix it myself. And I’m not even a mechanic.

I would price around. Those are excellent cars and I think your car worth  fixing it.

Do you like it 1900 dollars worth?  You did say you liked it didn't you?

Yes, I like it, but I don’t know enough about mechanics to know how bad of shape it is in. I just spent $600 on new brakes a few weeks ago.

If I pay the $1,900, how reliable are 350Zs after 200k miles?
