I went to the dealership today to test drive a 2019 Honda Civic LX (9k miles). Everything was perfect except for one issue I had. I noticed when I let the engine idle and was just looking around the car looking for scratches etc. It would make a clicking noise, I was conflicted because the car itself has 9k miles and its practically new. I checked the carfax and no damage and it only had 1 owner, however it has not been serviced ( https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?vin=19XFC2F66KE020966&partner=DON_0) so I think it just needs an oil change.
It's a direct injected motor, so it has a high pressure fuel pump. The high pressure fuel pump makes that ticking noise. Nothing wrong with the car. Even a brand new Honda with 0 miles will have that ticking noise.
Honda fuel injectors do click-click-click. They are relatively noisy.
Have them start another one with the same engine and compare.
