Hi, can someone give me a basic remedy for guessing or a close measurement of a torque specification of let’s say 30 ft pounds? I have a torque wrench that starts at 50lbs and up but not below!
Thanks.
Some electric drills have a dial for pounds torque behind the chuck, like most Dewalts. For 5 to 30 pounds.
There is a 3/8" one from Harbor Freight that sells for about $20.00, goes from 5 - 80 ft. lbs. Link follows:

But I'm sure lots of others out there.
You can usually get them for about 12 bucks at Harbor Freight on sale or with a coupon.

Yeah, you should get yourself a torque wrench that can go lower than 50 lb*ft. It seems like you're picky with torque specs (don't worry I am too lol), so it would benefit you.
The remedy would be to buy another tool for the job.
No way to guess for 30 pounds. Hands tight my reach 18-20 pounds.
It depends. If you're tightening a dozen bolts into an oil pan, it's best to buy another torque wrench.
Otherwise, just tighten it firmly. Use a small wrench or ratchet so you don't have much leverage.
30 pounds is snug, without any need to put your weight into the tool.
