My 2003 Buick century. Has over 200,000 miles on it. Bought it for$350 before I got it. My foster sister had it and quit driving it cause she thought the transmission is going out. It sat for a year without being started or moved. I put a new battery and coil packs in it. And spark plugs. The wires look brand new still. But every time I step on the gas while in drive it Boggs down. and won't go over 40 mph. I'm on a tight budget with the covid shutdown and trying to fix what I can. I was told the torque converter is needing replaced but before I go that far what should I do? I'm thinking vacuum lines are plugged off and found a couple not even attached. No one is really helping me figure it out and I'm a single mom doing this on a budget. What would you recommend?

No codes. Check engine light? Have codes read at auto parts store,,free...you have to track down if it's motor or transmission. Have someone smell transmission fluid on dip stick, smells burnt trans is issue. I would not put more than 300.00 to 500.00 more in it, if properly diagnosed and guaranteed repair will cure it.
