My name is Kyle I recently got a 2004 rav4 automatic transmission from my grandma as a present but the transfer in the transmission was damaged and because in my country ( Panama) is very difficult to find those types of parts my mechanic suggested to change transmission so now my 4 wheel dive is a 2 wheel drive but that is not the problem, the problem is that when the car shifts from 2 to 3 gear the gear kinda pauses and slams😔 but all of the other gears are okay. Have you ever seen something like that or have any suggestions?

Could be a lot of things..slipping trans...smell fluid if it's smells burnt or discolored slipping clutches.
I assume that the new transmission was used. In this case, if the fluid level and color are right, you may have internal transmission wear. Take the car to a mechanic who works on transmission and have him check the car for you.
