What do you think about the 2003 Ford Sport Trac 4.0 SOHC V6 engine?
I have 230,000 miles on my truck and i drove all of them. I think it is past due to have the timing chains and guide assemblies replaced. The price I have been given for the project is between $3500-$3700. The Ford shop is mainly concerned about not have motorcraft parts for this project. I have priced used trucks like the 2019 Ford Ranger to replace this truck but they run about $30,000 and I am not so sure about a turbo 4 cylinder engine in the long run.

Personally with that kind of mileage I would not attempt to rebuilding the engine piece by piece. I would replace it with the remanufactured engine. I would not attempt to fix an old worn out one
