Hey Scotty! I recently noticed that my valve cover is leaking on my 2002 Camry 2.4L with 192k miles. I replaced the valve cover gasket but it is still leaking, especially on the rear of the engine, as pictured below (What other things should I check for? I've already re-tightened the bolts to make sure they're up to spec):
Did you also tighten it in the correct sequence? It may leak if it wasn't the correct sequence.
I definitely didn't go by the book, but I started with the center, ending with a star pattern.
Each time I do it, the gasket is a bit tricky to stay in the right spot as I place it. The last time I used a pinch of form a gasket to help it stay in place.
I wonder if slipped out of place in the rear as you put it on, and is leaking because of that?
Might be worth pulling it off and re-seating it.
