Hey Mr Scotty, I have a 2003 Mitsubishi eclipse SR5 4 cylinder I can be driving down the road and my car will just shut off on me all the lights on the dash still work I just don't have any power when I try to crank it it acts like it's at a gas so someone put the scanner on it but it was just a little part that goes up in there and they use their phone it said that it was my crankshaft sensor and my Cadillac converter now I took it to the shop last year and they said they put a new crankshaft sensor on there but I think they put the camshaft sensor on there but they charged me for a crankshaft sensor after my car sits for a while it'll start back up so could it be my crankshaft sensor or maybe my camshaft sensor I am so tired of breaking down but it doesn't do it everyday it doesn't just some days but the shade tree mechanic said it's probably doing it on most of the hotter days when it gets hot and then when it cools off it'll restart he wants to put the crankshaft sensor on but I just get bad bars from that I think maybe I need to take it to the shop cuz I don't trust the shade tree mechanics and he said he might have 90% of the tools to fix it so I'm kind of skeptical of letting an unlicensed professional work on my car
Now of course could be lots of things but knowing those mitsubishies often on those it's a bad computer the main computers go bad and do exactly that
